The Haibike SkidPlate
Made of shock-resistant plastic, the light component protects effectively from scratches or motor damage.
Especially eMTBs often suffer from impacts or stone chipping which damage the low-situated motor severely. Therefore, we were the first manufacturer to introduce the SkidPlate back in 2013, a protection element which protects the bottom side of the motor.
Bottom side protection
Here the concept of a 'sacrifice part' applies: Similar to a helmet, the SkidPlate absorbs impact forces by deformation or destruction which would otherwise damage the significantly more expensive motor.
Plastic as ideal raw material
This is why we also use a special, shock-resistant plastic. This material conducts the incoming forces very well but stays dimensionally stable even under severe deformation at the same time compared to other materials which do not switch back to their original shape after deformation. The production in the corresponding color perfectly hide scratches and smaller damage. If required, the SkidPlate can simply and cheaply be exchanged.
The Haibike Gravity Casting Interface
The heart of the Haibike alu frame: light, highly robust and complex manufacturing with a special casting technique known from the motorcycle industry.
It is the heart of the frame: the motor interface. Here, many crucial functions such as motor mount, rocker and damper mount, as well as the interlocking battery and lower connection. A robust frame is based on a sturdy interface.
Casting technique known from the motorcycle industry
Therefore, since 2010, we use a casting technique which is known from the motorcycle industry, the so-called Gravity-Casting technique. In this process, negative forms made of compressed sand are placed in big forms. These sand forms are then filled with an alloy of alu and zinc and afterwards rotate in precisely calculated axes. Due to gravity, the alloy spreads evenly and results in an even casting thickness.
Light, robust and precise
Thanks to this procedure, extremely robust components can be produced which are then exposed to an extensive X-ray control in order to achieve the casting seal of approval. A subsequent, computer-controlled postprocessing ensures stable precision.

The Performance Speed drive unit is a powerful and reliable S-Pedelec drive system built for fast eBikes. With 350 watts of power it supports the rider up to 45 km/h.
The advanced 3-sensor system detects torque, cadence and speed 1,000 times per second and sends the information to a powerful processor in almost real time. This extremely fast and precise motor control of the Bosch drive ensures accurate and timely responses while you’re riding.
The Haibike eLight System
The first lighting which was especially developed for sportive eBikes. Optically, it suits the bike very well. Luminous and retrofittable on all XDUROs and SDUROs with Bosch drive unit.
Lighting on a bike is an important safety feature and allows you to ride your bike beyond daylight hours. However, standard lights stand in contrast with the character of sportive bikes. Plug-on lights also remain foreign items, both technically and optically, on the bike which is why we developed the eLight system which combines functionality and optical integration.
Bright but invisible
The front and rear light are designed to be positioned extremely close to the frame so they visually become part of it. The rear light is visually almost completely integrated due to its rod shape.
Retrofit any bike with Bosch system
Headlight and rear light are conform with STVZ. You can retrofit both indivudually or as set on any XDURO and SDURO with Bosch drive unit. Switching on and off takes place via a light button on the Bosch display. The result is a naturally appearing light system which integrates perfectly in sportive bikes.
Bosch Intuvia Display
A computer and control element: the proven Bosch Intuvia display is easy to read and offers many functions and information to the rider.
The Intuvia display tells the rider: actual, average and maximum speed, day trip and total distance, the time, trip time and total operating time of the bike, and motor performance. The remote control is located on the left of the handlebars and all display features and support modes can be selected safely while driving without taking your hands off the handlebars. The stable display base ensures a secure fit even under tough conditions.
An accurate range indicator displays how far the current charge level will last in mileage. From the remote, the five support modes (Off, Eco, Tour, eMTB/Sport, Turbo) can be selected or walk-assist can be activated. Display functions can be accessed even when removed from the bike. A micro-USB connector allows you to charge a navigation system, mobile phone, or MP3 player.
